Can someone PLEASE explain to me the Ontological Argument in LAYMAN'S TERMS?

I read it. It is confusing. To me it sounds like it is an argument from the intellect only with no real proof necessary. Basically if you can conceive God intellectually He must exist. I believe in God but this argument would not convince me alone to believe in God. I see intelligent design in everything. I am an engineer, I know how difficult some things are to do and see focused design in them and not random combinations like a multitude of "good" birth defects which is what evolution umes. You are right that philosophy is intense. Some of those dudes sat alone for a long long time thinking.
