Help with a stubborn squeaky door?

Have you tried Graphite ? It is greaseless and doesn't allow dust, grit or debris to adhere to it and get trapped in the workings of the moving parts (of anything). Maybe there is a small particle stuck in between the moving parts of the hinge. Earthquake activity in the past may have shifted the door jamb and the metal is rubbing on the metal ??
