Facebook asking to verify private info?!?

I just went on facebook a few minutes ago. they said my account was unavailable temporarily due to site maintenance and there was a pop up for a type of account "authorization" where they asked to verify: first and last name, city, province, postal code, phone number, credit card number, credit card PIN (yes. they asked for the PIN...), credit card security code, date of birth, social insurance/security number, drivers license number, and employer. to me....thats A LOT of information for facebook to want to verify....especially the credit card number, social and drivers license...i didnt give them any more than i already had on my facebook page, so i entered zeros for the other stuff. but why on earth would facebook need to verify all that? is that odd?
