My boyfriend doesn't want me to be a twirler ?

okay .. so i made the twirling team but my boyfriend doesn't want me too. He says they look stupid and that I'll just hurt myself. i think id be pretty good at it. He never acts like this he's usually supportive in anything i want to do, but he really hates the idea of me becoming a twirler.. what do u think i should do??
