What properties of carbon monoxide are different from that of carbon dioxide?
Carbon monoxide is unsaturated oxide of carbon, and Carbon dioxide is saturated compound. Carbon monoxide is an inhalation poison, it is produced from partial combustion of Carbon or - other organic matters, and it is used to synthesis Phosgine and many organic compounds. Carbon dioxide is produced from complete combustion of Carbon or any organic matter, it produces Carbonic acid with water, used in soft drinks and is generally not hazardous for life. (If Oxygen level is not below 16 %). It is byproduct of many fuel combustion processes and large number of Organic and Inorganic reactions.
