Puddle after defrosting my freezer chest?

I wanted to sell the old freezer chest in my new home. I viewed it twice and all the food was frozen fine before I moved in. On possession day, it was empty and clean (defrosted) inside and still running, then I unplugged it. The next day there was a puddle of water under it. Also there was a rust stain on the vinyl floor there too so I'm uming it's done this before. Is this a clue that the freezer is dying? It is a Coldspot which is the brand Sears used before Kenmore, so it is an old freezer..
